Boom lifts for any height

Overview

When the work is high up but not heavy

A great deal of work does not need a crane lifting loads. It needs a safe, stable way of putting a person at a particular height so they can work there. That is what a boom lift does: a basket on a telescopic boom mounted on a truck, set on outriggers and raised to the work point.

The practical difference is time. Scaffolding and ladders need erecting, dismantling and floor space; a boom lift arrives, works, and leaves the same day — and can move between several points on the same facade.

  • Cladding work and building facade maintenance
  • Hangar and warehouse roof maintenance from inside
  • Running and servicing pipework and lighting at height
  • Cleaning glass facades
  • Civil-defence system work at height

What we need to know

What we ask before a boom lift is dispatched

  • Working height

How high the work point is from ground level — it determines which of the available machines fits.

  • Where the truck can park

The lift is truck-mounted and needs parking space and firm ground for the outriggers.

  • Indoors or outdoors

Working inside a hangar needs an entrance high enough and room to manoeuvre.

  • Horizontal reach

If the work point is set back from where the truck can park, the boom has to cover reach and height together.

FAQ

Questions about boom lifts

What is the difference between a boom lift and a crane?

A boom lift raises workers and their tools so they can work at height. A crane moves loads from one point to another. Some jobs — erecting a steel hangar, for example — need both on the same site.

What is the maximum height available?

Boom lifts are available for a range of working heights. Tell us the height of the work point and the horizontal distance from where the truck can park, and we will match it to what is available.

Can they be used inside warehouses?

Yes, and we do it regularly inside hangars and warehouses. We just need to confirm the entrance height, the room to manoeuvre inside the hall, and the floor type.

Are they suitable for signage installation?

Yes — installing signage and facade lettering is one of the most common jobs boom lifts are used for. Send a photo of the facade and the height of the sign and we will match the machine.
